About Us
A&L Clocks was established in 2002 and specializes in antique clock repair and restoration, as well as clock dial repair and restoration. In particular, the full restoration and clock maintenance of 17th, 18th, and 19th century clocks and clock dials.
Our expertise lies in the repair and restoration of antique English, French, Austrian, Swiss and German clocks. Please view our Clock and Dial restoration sections for further details. All work is performed in a sympathetic manner and in consultation with the clock owner.
Typically the type of antique clocks we restore are Bracket clocks, Boulle clocks, Mantle clocks, Longcase clocks, Vienna regulators, Precision regulators, Carriage clocks, French Industrial clocks, Skeleton clocks and Cuckoo clocks.
Having a fully equipped workshop, not only does it allows us to overhaul and restore clock movements, but also cut new wheels and pinions, re-pivoting, undertake verge conversions, make brass and steel parts matching the clock's period, gold leafing, gilding effects. We do all this in-house.
We also restore and repair antique silvered clock dials, enamel dials, painted dials. We restore most enamel and painted watch dials. Dial work can span from a small repair to a complete dial restoration.
We also restore brass, bronze, timber and marble clock cases.
Repairs are undertaken as part of a full clock restoration. For warranty reasons, we cannot carry out specific repairs only unless completing a full restoration. All work is of the highest standard. Our client base comprises of Melbourne based premier antique dealers, clock collectors with large and small collections, single clock owners and interstate clients.
We have also done Turret clock work as part of a small team in Tasmania and Melbourne.
Customer service and satisfaction are our number one priorites. We will collect the clock from its location, undertake the necessary restoration work and then return it and set it up. All work is guaranteed. Should an issue arise, it will be attended to promptly.
